There are many places to eat on and around the Lake with a great variation in food, atmosphere and prices. A web site has been set up recently to collect all the restaurants in the area and hopefully get some reviews...www.smldining.com
Some restaurants get a little crowded in the summer, but that is changing with new restaurants opening and old ones expanding. We have heard some rather heated arguments over who has the best breakfast and/or the best hamburgers on the Lake!
We decided to put this list in alphabetical order so you can form your own opinions about each one.

El Torito - Lake Plaza (across 122 from the Food Lion in the Westlake area). Mexican fare. Thursday is half price Margarita Night! (540) 721-3821

Smith Mountain Coffee and Cafe at Westlake Town Center. Also serving sandwiches and soups.
We have been asked what grocery stores are in the area. Westlake has two - Kroger and Food Lion. There is a ShopRite on the Bedford side at the corner of 122 and 655. There is also an ABC Store in Westlake.
